Seven days is enough for a rewarding Uganda safari when the route stays focused on the southwest. Lake Mburo breaks the journey from Entebbe, Bwindi provides the central gorilla experience, and Queen Elizabeth adds contrasting savannah wildlife without unnecessary backtracking. If chimpanzee tracking is essential, we recommend a longer itinerary with Kibale rather than forcing it into these seven days.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 — Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park
Meet your Orugano guide and travel southwest from Entebbe. Lake Mburo provides a gentler first transfer than driving directly to Bwindi and introduces you to Uganda’s savannah landscapes. Depending on arrival time and the confirmed plan, your first park experience may include light wildlife viewing.
Day 2 — Lake Mburo to Bwindi
Continue through the highlands toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The scenery changes from open savannah to terraced hills and forested ridges as you approach the gorilla region. Settle into your Bwindi accommodation and prepare for the following morning’s trek.

Day 3 — Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After an early breakfast, transfer to the correct park headquarters for registration and a ranger briefing. Trekking time varies with the location of the gorilla family and forest conditions. Once the gorillas are found, follow the ranger’s instructions throughout the encounter. Your guide coordinates the day around your permit and confirmed trekking sector.
Day 4 — Bwindi Culture and Time at the Lodge
Spend a slower day around Bwindi after the trek. The planned cultural activity and its host community will be confirmed in your quotation. The remaining time can be used to rest at the lodge or explore an agreed local activity at an unhurried pace.
Day 5 — Bwindi to Ishasha, Queen Elizabeth National Park
Leave the forest for the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This remote savannah is known for the possibility of seeing tree-climbing lions, alongside other wildlife. Sightings are never guaranteed, so the drive is planned as a broader game-viewing experience rather than around one species alone.
Day 6 — Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park on a game drive, then join the planned boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The channel offers a different perspective on the park’s wildlife and birdlife along the water’s edge. The order and timing of activities will be confirmed with the final route.
Day 7 — Return to Entebbe
Travel back toward Entebbe, with an Equator stop where timing allows. The final transfer is arranged around your confirmed onward flight or accommodation. We will check realistic road time before recommending a same-day international departure.

Gorilla trekking takes place on uneven forest terrain and the duration cannot be predicted in advance. Good walking shoes, long trousers, rain protection and a small daypack are sensible. Porters are available locally, and your guide will explain the arrangements before the trek.
