Routes built around gorilla permit availability, the correct trekking sector and the shortest sensible transfers into Bwindi, Mgahinga or Volcanoes National Park.

Gorilla trekking groups normally consist of a maximum of eight visitors per habituated gorilla family. For larger private groups wishing to trek together, special arrangements may sometimes be considered by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, subject to its approval and the circumstances on the day. Such arrangements cannot be guaranteed.

Encounters with habituated gorilla families are extremely reliable, and unsuccessful treks are exceptionally rare. It is never an absolute guarantee.

Chimpanzee sightings in Kibale are exceptionally reliable, with an estimated encounter rate of around 99%. Visitors can plan their trek with considerable confidence, although wildlife sightings can never be absolutely guaranteed.
